The AHYAA Arlington Arsenal were crowned champions of the 11-team north division for the 2019 Chicago Suburban Youth Baseball Association Palomino (high school) fall ball travel league with their 7-0 shutout win Sunday October 20th over the Waukegan Knights at Willow Stream Park in Buffalo Grove. Luc Rotondo tossed a 7 inning complete game shutout to pick up the pitching victory for the Arsenal. The #1 seeded Arsenal had previously defeated the Arlington Cardinals 9-2, and the Buffalo Grove Bandits 15-8 to advance to the north division championship game. The Arsenal await the 13-team south division champion, with the final three south teams consisting of the Midway Astros, Melrose Park Thorns, and Chicago Eagles. The league championship game is scheduled for 5pm on Saturday October 26 at Recreation Park - Meyer Field in downtown Arlington Heights. Arsenal team members include: Noah Delfosse (Wheeling), Jack Doyle (Prospect), Tristan Figus (Buffalo Grove), Jacob Gazda (Buffalo Grove), Ryan Gudaitis (Hersey), George Katsargiris (Buffalo Grove), Blake Knauss (Hersey), Cameron Majeski (Buffalo Grove), Luc Rotondo (Buffalo Grove), Will Schmidt (Hersey), Jacob Siciliano (Prospect), Tommy Spiegelman (Buffalo Grove), Luke Ulbert (Hersey), Joe Van Hoy (Buffalo Grove), Matt Wolverton (Buffalo Grove). The team is managed by Nic Rotondo, with Jon Gazda and Vince Siciliano serving as assistant coaches.
