Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA) administers multiple baseball, softball, lacrosse, football and cheerleading programs in Arlington Heights, IL. Registration and general information about each program is available on our website.
Format - Coach pitch format with full-roster batting and team rosters that are formed by the league. This instructional league emphasizes fun while learning baseball fundamentals, such as throwing, catching, hitting and field positions. Parents are encouraged to participate with managing, coaching, and coordinating team activities. Games and practices are intended to be fun for all players, no matter their talent level.
Season - Teams are generally formed in mid-April, with practices beginning soon after. Games generally begin in mid-May and continue through the end of June. There are no playoffs in the Coach Pitch league. The timing of games and practices varies and is dependent on field availability and weather. The coaches determine how often and where practices occur and generally aim for 2-3 practices/games per week. Practices are typically 60-90 minutes and games are no longer than 2 hours.
Volunteer Positions - Parents are encouraged to participate. At the Coach Pitch level, the most important volunteer positions are the manager and coaches. Managers generally run the teams, and coaches help out at games and practices. Each team will be assigned a manager and a number of additional coaches. Please consider managing/coaching a team when registering and indicate in the notes if you have already spoken with other parents about coaching together.
Teams – Coach Pitch teams are formed by the league. The league will always attempt to group players by school and we do our best to honor friend and manager requests, however we cannot guarantee all requests. The biggest challenge is not having enough manager and coach volunteers, which then requires we spread the volunteers around to cover all the teams evenly.
Equipment - All players will receive a game jersey and hat. The league also supplies each team with balls and catcher’s equipment. Players supply their own gloves, batting helmets, baseball cleats, socks, and pants.
Bat Rule - Players may use any wood bat. The barrel size of any metal or composite bat may not exceed 2 1/4 inches in diameter and must be imprinted with the words “Approved for Little League” or words substantially similar thereto. Wood bats or bats with 2 1/4 inch barrels are strongly recommended for this age group.

The conclusion of the regular season ends with a double-header day at Melas Parks. The timing of games and practices varies and is dependent on field availability and weather. Format - The House All-Stars N60 Baseball program was formed to provide house baseball players the opportunity to experience travel baseball, on a part time basis. House All-Stars is open to current house baseball players only. This program provides an additional 10-12 game schedule, in a competitive league, for AHYAA house baseball players to play against competitive teams from Lake, Cook and McHenry Counties.
Season - From the beginning of April, through mid-July, players will play 8-12 N60 games, three tournaments (Memorial Day, early-July, and mid-July) and their regular AHYAA house games. All travel games will be played on Fridays and Sundays, with the potential for double-headers. The House All-Star games will not interfere with any AHYAA house games. Travel players will be expected to practice an additional 1-2 days a week, on top of any practices they may have with their house teams. Note: AHYAA house games take priority over any travel games and practices.
Volunteer Positions - Confirmation of teams at each age level is based on participant and volunteer interest/turnout. If you have interest in managing or coaching, contact the league representative.
Teams - AHYAA generally forms teams at the 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U age levels depending on the number volunteers available to manager and coach. An informational meeting, as well as tryouts are generally held in January or February. Confirmation of teams at each age level is based on participant and volunteer interest/turnout. AHYAA will hold a try-out for each participating age group and leverage player evaluations from the previous season.
Cost - The estimated cost for participating in the House All-Stars N60 Baseball program is $500 per player. The cost includes all scheduled games, umpire fees, game supplies, tournament fees, and travel uniforms. Note: The cost of this program is in addition to the AHYAA house league fees.

Format - For players who want to play more house baseball after the regular season, or did not play in the Spring season, we offer a second season Fall BAll that runs from mid-August thru mid- October. Please check the website in July for more information. This league is dependent on interest by division.

Format - Arlington Cardinals is our full-time travel baseball program. This competitive baseball program has been in existence for more than 20 years and is known for developing superior baseball skills while practicing high standards of sportsmanship.
Season - The Arlington Cardinals play in the MSBL League and the regular season is approximately 20 games with a post season tournament. Teams will likely play in 2 to 4 additional tournaments during the season. Games start in April and end in early to mid-July. Some tournaments may be after the regular season schedule ends. This program includes indoor training in the winter prior to the start of the regular season.
Teams - Teams levels range from 8u to High Schol and players are selected based on ability. To be eligible for a given team the player must be the appropriate age as of May 1 of the year in question. For example, to play on a 2020 10u team, the player must be no older than 10 as of May 1, 2020. Tryouts are held for teams at all levels and the number of teams fielded will be determined based on turnout, generally 2 teams at each age level.Note: Players participating in Arlington Cardinals Travel Baseball are ineligible to play in AHYAA house leagues.
Cost - The estimated cost for participating in the Arlington Cardinals Baseball program is $800 - $1200. The cost includes indoor training, tournaments, league fees and uniforms.

Format - Senior Baseball is a post-high school league for players 18 years of age and up. AHYAA teams will be registered in Buffalo Grove’s (BGRA) Senior Colt baseball league.
Season - Teams will play 16-18 games plus playoff game(s). The season will run from late May and conclude in early-August. Games will be played during the evening (weekday game times starting no earlier than 6:00 pm) and on weekends against teams from other near-by towns.
Teams – We recommend that you recruit and register a whole team together. Individual interest will be kept on a waiting list at the AHYAA Office until we have enough to create a team. Groups that register as a team will be kept together as a team. We do not plan to draft the Arlington Heights teams in this league, but will make decisions on team composition based on the amount of individual registrations.
Equipment - All players will be provided with a game jersey and hat. Teams will be provided an equipment bag with catcher’s gear and balls. Players will need to provide their own batting helmets with facemask, gloves and fielders masks.
