Never discuss a decision of your fellow umpire with players.
Do not offer opinion to fellow umpire until requested.

Be on time for all scheduled games and ready to inspect field, go over ground rules and take possession of game balls.
Be on top and in complete control of game.
Keep teams hustling by setting example.
Keep your eye on the ball at all times.
Do not linger on field to discuss game with anyone.
Do not be guilty of criticizing decision of fellow umpire.
When umpiring game alone, call game from behind plate.
On ground balls hit to infield, umpire should immediately cut into infield, almost midway between pitcher and 1st base. If overthrow or error, he should follow runner around bases.
If the ball is hit slowly towards 3rd base, umpire should go towards 1st base on outside of foul line.
With two umpires, one umpire works behind home plate and the other at 1st base. With man on 1st base or 1st base and 2nd base, umpire at 1st base takes position behind pitcher, but close on 2nd base line.
There is no substitute for hustle and knowledge of rules.
