Girls Softball Program - General Information

The intent of the softball program is to provide for all participants a positive experience while learning the fundamentals of Fast Pitch Softball. We try to make it as equal a program as possible, giving equal attention to all participants, regardless of individual skill level. Good examples of this are we use a continuous batting order so everyone gets their turn at bat, as well as having minimum innings played for each player in each game.
Our programs start with Third Graders and goes all the way through Seniors in High School. Practices start in April with games in May and June. The regular season ends at the end of June (except for the High School League, which ends late July). Playoffs start at the end of June and finish the second weekend of July. All teams, no matter their record, participate in the playoffs.

With each league, we have special rules designed to allow that age group to experience the game and have success. As the players move up in age groups, the rules change to get them closer and closer to Fast Pitch Softball, and ultimately ready to play in High School. Such changes as the distance of the bases, distance of the pitchers mound from home plate, the number of innings played, restrictions on innings pitched, stolen bases, all are designated to accommodate specific age groups while being as safe as possible for the players.

As an all-volunteer organization, we are only as strong as the hundreds of volunteers it takes to run an organization that is as large as ours. Each year, we get hundreds of volunteer coaches and assistant coaches that dedicate their time and knowledge to teach all the players the fundamentals while having fun. If you have done this in the past, I thank you and encourage you to continue to do so. If you are new to the program, I would ask that you to consider to step up and help out a team. If coaching is not for you, then please consider any number of league or divisional reps that help coordinate the setting up of the leagues each year and are our first contact with the coaches during the season.

For more detailed information on each league, please go to the League tab and find the correct one for your child’s age group. If you ever have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
